About Arham Oil
What does Arham Oil do?
We provide waste management solutions for the oil and gas industry: robotic and mechanized non-man-entry cleaning of storage tanks, lagoons, pits and drains, and recovery of oil from oily sludge, slop and tar.
Who founded Arham Oil?
Arham Oil Gas Products and Services Pvt. Ltd. was founded on 31 May 2013 by petroleum engineers from IIT (ISM) Dhanbad.
Do your people ever need to enter the tank?
No. Our robotic systems are operated remotely from a safe zone, so no one enters the confined space.
Where do you work?
We are based in Ahmedabad and work across India, and are expanding our robotic tank cleaning services into the Middle East and GCC, Southeast Asia and Russia.
Robotic tank cleaning
Is robotic tank cleaning safer than manual methods?
Yes. Our ATEX-certified robots remove human entry from hazardous environments, eliminating the risk of toxic exposure, explosions and confined-space accidents.
How much does robotic tank cleaning cost?
It depends on tank size and sludge volume. Robotic methods typically save 40–60% compared with manual cleaning by reducing downtime, waste and labour. Robot-as-a-Service (RaaS) plans are available with no upfront cost.
How do the robots clean without anyone entering the tank?
The robots are operated remotely. Operators use live camera feeds and monitoring to steer jetting nozzles and suction from outside the tank.
Can the robots handle difficult sludge such as paraffin or sand?
Yes. Pressure and suction are adjusted to the sludge, whether it is paraffin, sand or a mix.
How long does robotic tank cleaning take?
Typically 3–7 days, compared with 10–14 days for manual cleaning. Robots can work around the clock.
Sludge oil recovery
What is sludge oil recovery and how does it work?
It extracts hydrocarbons from oily sludge, a mix of oil, water and solids, using mechanical separation such as centrifuges, steam heating and chemical treatment. Our integrated process recovers up to 95% of usable oil.
What types of sludge can be treated?
Sludge from tank bottoms, skimmed oil, pigging, drilling fluids and industrial effluents. We adjust centrifugation, chemical demulsification and steam heating to the composition.
How much oil can be recovered?
We routinely recover 90–95% of hydrocarbons from processed sludge. That offsets disposal costs, frees tank capacity and generates revenue.
Is sludge oil recovery environmentally safe?
Yes. The remaining solid fraction is under 20%, which limits pollution and landfill needs.
Can it be done on-site?
Yes. Our modular, mobile setups, including tricanter centrifuges and steam-based LSPU units, are deployed on-site, which removes transport costs.
How long does it take?
Mobile units treat about 8–30 m³ (50–200 barrels) per hour. A standard storage tank is usually processed in under a week including setup; larger facilities may need 7–14 days.
Robotic sludge removal
Which environments can robotic sludge removal handle?
Storage tanks, lagoons, wastewater pits, cooling basins and more. The units enter through standard manholes or access openings, so no dismantling is needed.
Can it be done while tanks are in service?
Often, yes. Process tanks and ponds can frequently be cleaned while they stay online.
How is sludge reprocessed, and is oil recovered?
High-pressure jetting and suction remove the sludge. Centrifugation or thermal extraction then separates hydrocarbons from water and solids, recovering oil and reducing waste volume.
Does anyone need to enter the tank?
No. The systems are fully remote-controlled from a safe zone.
